Dear Parents and teachers,

We are pleased to announce that the Fourth Annual General Meeting (AGM) cum Thankful Buffet Party will be held on 28 May 2011 (Saturday) at 2:00 – 5:15 p.m. at the School Assembly Hall on 3rd Floor. Registration of attendance will begin at 1:30 p.m. All parents of current pupils and teachers of HKUGA College are cordially invited to attend the event. Attached please find a Notice for the AGM and a Rundown of the events on that day for your information.

On that day, we will have the election for the new Ordinary Members to the Standing Committee (SC) (2011-2013). Their missions to PTA have been expressed in the attached Candidates' Profile. At the same time, an election process for a new Parent Manager (PM) for Incorporated Management Committee (IMC) (2011-2012) and a motion to amend the PTA’s Constitution will also take place.

Attached please find the following documents for your information and prompt action:

As a highlight of the event, we have invited one of our parents, Dr. Robert Chung (鍾庭耀博士), to be our VIP Speaker to share with us his passions for "Life and Numbers" (數字人生). As a token of thanks for your past support, a free afternoon tea buffet will be served and there will be many more delightful surprises to make the afternoon a fun-filled and unforgettable one for you all!

This event is surely a mustn't miss for everyone and we look forward to seeing you on this big day for PTA!

It's time for the PTA of HKUGAC to hold our 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM).

On 28th May 2011 when the 4th AGM is scheduled to take place, the Chairlady of PTA will deliver her Annual Report and the Income/Expenditure Account for the past year will be reviewed.

Another important agenda item for the 4th AGM is to re-elect Standing Committee Ordinary Members and Parent Managers as follows:

The elected Parent Manager and Alternative Parent Manager will work closely with the IMC in terms of policy matters of the School. The six newly elected Standing Committee Ordinary Members, on the other hand, will work closely with the existing Standing Committee Ordinary Members elected last year to support the school in its day-to-day business. In all these aspects, they work for the ultimate benefit of all the students of the School.

I would like to invite all parents to run for the above posts. I have enclosed herewith the Nomination Forms and Nomination Rules concerning Parent Managers and PTA Standing Committee Ordinary Members. Parents may choose to stand for election of either or both posts.

Besides, the following important documents concerning the election will be posted on the School website and the PTA website for reference and review:

Should parents wish to run for either or both of the posts, please return the completed Candidate Statement(s) to the School's General Office (Attn: Mr. Sydney Wong, the Election Supervisor) between 9:00 a.m. on 29th March 2011 and 5:00 p.m. on 14th April 2011 after which the nomination period will be closed.

Let's join hands and work together for the immediate and longer-term benefit of our pupils.

I look forward to your participation.

Sincerely yours,
Sydney Wong
Election Supervisor
